Basic Day 1/ Night 1 Shelter

In Minecraft your worst enemy is the night, (and creepers) because that's when all the bad things come out to 'play' (kill you and ruin your home) so here is a perfect first night shelter you can build, you will need:
1 Crafting Table
1 Furnace
1 Chest
1 Door
4 Torches
64 (One stack) and 5 Wood planks
(Wood tools are optional, but recommended)

First, dig out a hole in this shape-

Then fill it in with wood planks, and place the door on the bottom right corner.

Then, make walls all around the floor but don't build the corners, AND leave out 2 blocks next to the door on the inner wall. The purpose is that, in Minecraft, zombies can break down doors so we have a small 2 block long area to kill the monsters once they get through. (if they get through..)

Then, cut out three blocks in the floor in the bigger area, (the two block wide one) and place down your crafting table, chest, and furnace.

Then, use the remaining planks to build the roof. NOTE- Don't forget to light up the place or monsters WILL spawn inside!

And your day 1/ night 1 shelter is COMPLETE!

Basic Potion Brewing

In Minecraft one of your best friends (in pvp and pve mainly) is the potion. A potion is used to give you a special ability for a limited amount of time. To get the necessary equipment to make these potions we will need to head off to the nether and find a fortress. but first we need a portal. To make a portal gather 14 obsidian (or ten without the corners)  and place them 4 across, and 5 high.

Then, to activate the portal make flint and steel and using it, right click the base of the portal. After that wait for the new terrain to generate and start looking for a nether fortress. (Black-ish purple stone) Then find a blaze. Kill them to get blaze rods, try and get about 3 or 4 to start. Also look out for Nether Wart. We DEFINITELY need that.

Now that you have found these materials head back to the normal world and get slime balls from slimes, or get them from magma cubes in the Nether. Once you have those, construct a potion brewer. Also, in your furnace cook 3 or so sand into glass blocks so you can make glass bottles. These will be used to hold your potions.

Next, fill up the bottles with water by right clicking it on a water source. After that, go back into the potion brewer and put the bottles in the row of 3 empty slots. In the top slot put in 1 Nether Wart, after its done brewing it will give you 3 Awkward Potions, these are the base potions ued to make any type of potion.

Here are some simple potions you can create using easy to collect ingredients.

1. Potion of Healing - 1 Nether Wart, 1 Glistering Melon

2. Potion of Fire Resistance - 1 Nether Wart, 1 Magma Cream (Made with Blaze Power and Slime Balls)

3. Splash Potion of Poison - 1 Nether Wart, 1 Spider Eye, 1 Gunpowder

Feel free to try using different ingredients to make different types of potions, such as night vision, strength, and even invisibility!

Basic Breeding

In Minecraft there are LOTS of animals, but not infinite, so to make sure you have enough animal related items they added breeding. (Don't worry, this is an E10 game. I think..) So lets get started! I wont be adding that many photos to this blog because they aren't very relevant to this post so mainly it will be just written out instructions.

1. Breeding Equipment -
For breeding you will need a few different things depending on what type of animal you are breeding so heres a list -
A. Wheat for Cows, Sheep, and Horses
B. Seads for Chickens
C. Carrots for Pigs
D. Raw Fish for Cats
E. Raw (Or cooked) Meat for Dogs

2. Breeding -
When you have TWO of the SAME type of animal(s) right click each one with the selected food item in your hand until hearts start appearing above their head(s).
NOTE - "Love Mode" can only be used on adult animals and once per five minutes (average) per set of adult animals.

And that's all there is to it! Just don't forget, when it comes to CATS and DOGS you must have tamed them BEFORE trying to breed them!

Basic Enchanting

We all know that in Minecraft simple tasks like mining and farming can be tedious, but besides getting better quality tools we can also ENCHANT them. The first few things we need are simple, but sometimes annoying to get, we will need 4 Obsidian, a LOT of sugar cane, and a TON of leather, a long with some wooden planks. NOTE - The more bookshelves you have the more experience it will cost per enchantment, but if you block off the space between the Enchantment Table and the bookshelf it wont cost as much. (Just use a torch or dirt.)

1. Books and Bookshelves

NOTE - You can place the leather and the paper ANYWHERE and still make a book.

NOTE- The numbers on the right is how much Exp. (Experience) it will cost you to enchant something! ALSO some items can NOT be enchanted. (I.E. - Flint and Steel)

Now this is the difference between ENCHANTED and NOT enchanted. (Top half NOT)

Basic Farming

Here are some tips to start you off with farming in your Minecraft world.

1. The tools - For farming there aren't many tools. Heres the few you WILL need.

2. The basic (beginner's) farm-
3. Food recipe(s) - The first type of food that you grow will be the main food source for you during the time you play, unless you find watermelons or pumpkins.

Basic Mining

Here are some tips to start you off with mining in your Minecraft world.

1. The tools - In Minecraft there are LOTS of tools! Mainly the same types, but made with better or weaker matterials. Here are a couple of easy to craft tools to start mining with.

 2. Styles of mining -
In Minecraft there are MANY different ways for mining, here are the two easiest styles: branch mining, and what I call bedrock mining. (The name given due to finally you WILL reach bedrock. Thus the name.)

I. Branch Mining -

II. Bedrock Mining - (Don't forget to have a ladder on the edge!)
3. The Ores - In Minecraft there are actually more ORES compared to tools. Here are ALL of them as of version 1.6.4 On the bottom row is the ore you find naturally generated in the world. On the top row is what it yeilds once broken with a pickaxe. NOTE - The midde 2 must be cooked in a furnace before its use able!

 4. Water, Lava, and Obsidian - One of the most important yet most DEADLY items to try and get is obsidian. Obsidian is made when water and lava meet, (but can sometimes make cobblestone) and is used to make Nether Portals to get to the Nether Realm. NOTE - You need a diamond pickaxe to mine out obsidian!

Now if you want to pick up the lava or water you need a BUCKET here is how to craft it. -
